The History
Sanatoré was started by Pamela. She was inspired by the flaws she noted in the care and support provided by the Council and the care Agencies while caring for her daughter who was diagnosed with Autism. Pamela observed the nonchalant attitude displayed by the Council with regards to her daughter's educational needs. The many Care Agencies she employed to assist with her daughter's social skills showed no regards to the specific needs of her daughter. They often send untrained and inexperienced staff who sometimes could not speak English but most importantly have not heard the word Autism.
These Agencies train their staff to care for the elderly and then simply add on Special Needs as part of their Care services. Most of the time, Pamela will end up training the staff sent by these Agencies to support her daughter. One day, the owner of one of the Agencies suggested to Pamela to start her own Support Care Agency specifically designed for people with Special Needs. These were the exact words spoken to Pamela "you have ended up training my staff members, you did such an outstanding job, why don't you start a Support Care and training Agency just for people with Special Needs since you are the one wearing the shoes and you know exactly where it hurts"
Pamela is passionate about advocating for people with Special Needs. She is driven by her disappointing past experience with the Council and Care Agencies and will probably wish to heal as many people with Special Needs as possible, if she could. Her starting point is to provide experienced Support Care for people with Special Needs and offer the right training for people who look after or work with them hence the birth of Sanatoré. Pamela carefully chose the name of her Support Care Agency to reflect her innermost desire of bringing about positive and permanent change to the lives of people with Special Needs. SANATORE: a Latin word that means Healer
As Pamela will say " show me a person with Special Needs and i will show you an undiscovered genius"

We recognize that caring for or working as a support worker, teacher or employing someone with special needs can be really challenging, so we provide a comprehensive induction and training in a range of key areas
In order to meet the needs of our clients on a daily basis we will draw on many skills and qualities that they already have. To enhance their existing skills and to help them develop new ones.
